Bohio Music Album Release Party | Recap

BohioMusic-010On Friday, April 26 at ShapeShifter Lab, Haiti Cultural Exchange hosted Bohio Music’s (Riva Nyri Précil and Monvelyno) latest album ‘Ayiti Nan Kay La’ (Haiti in the House) album premiere. Consisting of 17 original songs in Haitian Creole and English. Each song is a combination of Haitian rhythms, traditional Haitian and African instruments, topped with electronic influences and conscious lyricism. The performance was multimedia, including slideshows of Haiti, video projections, singing and dancing. Guests artists included dancers Peniel Guerrier, Agathina Nozy, and percussionist Markus Schwartz.

On Friday, April 26 at ShapeShifter Lab, Haiti Cultural Exchange hosted Riva Nyri Précil and Monvelyno of Bohio Music who brought us their latest album ‘Ayiti Nan Kay La’ (Haiti in the House) for a special album premiere performance. The performance was an experience, meshing photography, video projections, music and dancing. Guests artists, dancers Peniel Guerrier, Agathina Nozy, and percussionist Markus Schwartz, joined Bohio Music for the celebration.

Consisting of 17 original songs in Haitian Creole and English, each song on ‘Ayiti Nan Kay La’ is a combination of Haitian rhythms, traditional Haitian and African instruments, topped with electronic influences and conscious lyricism.
