HCX | Collaborations

Haiti Cultural Exchange engages with our community and other institutions to further positive and critical conversations of culture. Here are some upcoming HCX collaborations happening in your New York community.

May 18

Sidewalk Assembly

Join Sidewalk Assembly in partnership with HCX for their first event featuring an interactive conversation with Haitian drummer Jean Marie Brignol, curator Natika Soward, and poet Camonghne Felix while they offer us their thoughts and share their stories. This program offers an opportunity to not only interact with these artists but learn more about what drives them and how we may all learn from one another.

The Sidewalk Assembly Mission
Sidewalk Assembly is the walk from your front door to the subway. It is Eastern Parkway, Fulton, and Franklin – it is the streets and sidewalks, their stories told in bodegas, botanicas, and brownstones. Sidewalk is an event series by and of the community, always here, always moving, always believing that seeds will grow from the sharing of art, music, and stories.
