Alain Leroy is a venture architect, author, and impact investor working at the intersection of entrepreneurship and innovation. A pioneer in social entrepreneurship and impact investing, he helps founders, backers, and operators turn promising ideas into viable ventures and develop the systems, resources, and communities needed for sustainable growth.
He is the author of Venture Philanthropy Blueprint: Builders. Backers. Believers., which introduces a practical approach to building and scaling mission-driven ventures through Capital + Capacity + Community. At the heart of the framework is a simple idea: funding alone is not enough. Mission-driven ventures also need the operational capacity and community support required to grow, scale, and last.
Drawing on experience across entrepreneurship, corporate strategy, technology, investment, and education, Alain combines strategic thinking with the realities of building organizations in today’s world. He teaches social innovation and entrepreneurship and works with founders, universities, investors, and entrepreneurial ecosystems to develop the next generation of ventures and venture builders.

As Founder and Managing Partner of GoodLight Capital, he invested in visionary founders tackling global challenges. As co-founder and CEO of MPOWERD, he helped bring millions of solar-powered products to communities around the world. He also has founded The Mindful Arts, a movement dedicated to integrating ancient wisdom with modern well-being based on his lifelong practice of martial arts, yoga, breath work and meditation.
His influence extends well beyond business. Jacques-Philippe has advised global philanthropic initiatives, including George Clooney’s Hope for Haiti Fund, helped establish the Council of Urban Professionals, served on influential public and nonprofit boards, and was recognized as a World Economic Forum Young Global Leader.
