Yvonne Mpwo has joined the Haiti Cultural Exchange as our new Program Manager.

Yvonne shares a few words:

“I am inspired by the various forms of storytelling within the diaspora. Haiti Cultural Exchange, an organization deeply embedded in its community, has provided a platform for the Haitian community to tell their stories. I am grateful for the opportunity to supplement and develop programs rooted in cultural interconnectedness and support for artistic expression.”

Yvonne’s Bio

Yvonne Mpwo is a Congolese – American curator, educator and community organizer who began her socially engaged art practice in Texas and moved to New York to collaborate with organizations dedicated to increasing artistic viewership, discourse, and community participation. Yvonne’s current curatorial practice focuses on producing shows in collaboration with creative technologists. In addition to starting the nonprofit artist residency, bana’pwo, Yvonne is the Artistic Organizer and a Curator of the upcoming Congo Biennale in Kinshasa.
